Edition brief: Three-month relay#

Status: Backlog hypothesis

Proposition#

A small set of works lives with a small set of hosts for three months at a time. The host joins the relay, not an inventory service. Movement, delayed context, and the temporary loss of a work that has become familiar are part of the edition.

The pairing#

The works need to sustain change through duration and placement without being reduced to interchangeable rental stock. Artists receive a release form in which circulation and reception can become material. Hosts receive enough time for attraction, irritation, indifference, or attachment to change before the work moves.

Possible score#

If a host leaves early, MOOI NIET. collects the work, applies the edition's stated early-pickup terms, and authors a replacement, rerouting, or visible gap. The host is not entitled to a more agreeable substitute merely because the work did not please them.

What this tests#

Refusals#

No public host profiles, reaction log, rotation streak, popularity ranking, inventory browsing disguised as chance, or compulsory meaning-making.

Open before release#

The artists and works, cohort size, actual run, care and insurance, note permissions, money flow, handoff capacity, and closure all need a real brief.
