A working shelf for possible future editions — 1 September 2026

This directory holds creative briefs for editions MOOI NIET. might make. It is where a proposition can develop alongside its works, artist experience, host experience, movement, enrichment, secrets, physical or digital mechanics, and economics before any of them harden into a reusable product feature.

These briefs are not a programme announcement or a promise to produce everything listed here. They are swings. Some will acquire real artists and works, some will combine, and some should be abandoned.

Status#

• Three-month relay — works rotate among hosts; a small trace may travel with them.
• Encoded lens — a published taste package or process surface becomes material for observation without becoming a verdict.
• Changing frame — a work-specific e-ink element changes according to an authored rule.
• Absurd allocation — lottery, reverse auction, or another unreasonable rule becomes part of the edition rather than a gate.

New ideas should begin with the creative brief template. A brief does not need to answer every prompt immediately, but it should make the gaps visible. Host and guest contributions belong here, at the level of the edition, instead of becoming a gallery-wide participation system.

The canonical distinction between a collection and an edition remains in Basic structure. The current presentation model is in the provisional edition system.
